Cine sunt castigatorii din acest an ai premiilor James Beard Foundation, “Oscarurile” din industria culinara

Premiile James Beard Foundation, eveniment major in industria de profil americana, numite si “Oscarurile culinare”, au fost decernate, conform traditiei, in seara zilei de 1 mai a.c. la Lyric Opera House din Chicago.

Premiile James Beard Foundation sunt clasificate in mai multe categorii, onorand astfel nu numai chef-ii, restaurantele sau emisiunile culinare, ci si arhitectii, restauratorii, designer-ii samd. O importanta majora se acorda si serviciilor, programelor de entertainment sau listelor de vinuri. Cele mai ravnite premii sunt Outstanding Chef, Outstanding Restaurant, Outstanding Pastry Chef, Outstanding Restaurateur, Best New Restaurant si Rising Star Chef.

Premiul “Best New Restaurant” a fost acordat restaurantului Le Coucou din New York, in timp ce distinctia “Outstanding Restaurant”, sponsorizata de S.Pellegrino, si cea mai “ravnita”, a fost acordata restaurantului Topolobampo din Chicago.

Anul acesta, Zachary Engel,  de la restauratntul Shaya din New Orleans este castigatorul categoriei “Rising Star”, sponsorizata tot de S.Pellegrino.

Premiul “Outstanding Service”, care anul trecut a fost castigat de Eleven Madison Park, ramane in New York insa merge la Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Michael Solomonov, de la restaurantul Zahav, din Philadelphia este noul “Outstanding Chef”, in timp ce premiul “Outstanding Baker” a fost acordat lui Mark Furstenberg, pentru a sa Bread Furst Bakery.

Outstanding Restaurateur – Stephen Starr, Starr Restaurants (Le Coucou, Serpico, Upland, and others), Philadelphia

Outstanding Service – Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Pocantico Hills, NY

Outstanding Bar Program – Arnaud’s French 75 Bar, New Orleans

Rising Star Chef of the Year – Zachary Engel, Shaya, New Orleans

2017 JBF Lifetime Achievement Award – Nora Pouillon, Restaurant Nora, Washington, D.C.
